Supporting Rodeo, Ranching, Timber & Mining through Scholarships and Grants

Our Services

SCHOLARSHIPS

The Cambridge Western Heritage Foundation was established to help local and regional businesses, families, and community partners support the next generation. Our scholarship program provides a simple, trustworthy way to fund educational opportunities for high school graduates connected to rodeo, ranching, agriculture, timber, mining, and the broader rural community. By managing the application, selection, and award process, we make it easy for donors to invest in students’ futures—whether they choose a trade school, two-year program, or four-year college.

GRANTS

The Foundation partners with the Cambridge Rodeo Association and other local organizations to enhance equine and community facilities. Through grants for arena upgrades, safety improvements, seating, and other infrastructure needs, we help ensure these spaces remain safe, functional, and enjoyable for youth programs, rodeo events, and the broader community.

Proposed Grandstand: A Legacy Investment for Cambridge

The Vision

The Cambridge Rodeo Association, in partnership with the Cambridge Western Heritage Foundation, proposes the construction of a new, modern grandstand designed to expand seating capacity, improve accessibility, enhance safety, and create a lasting community asset.

The proposed structure would measure approximately 60 feet wide by 50 feet deep and feature a two story design with a shed-style roof sloping away from the arena, providing shade and weather protection without obstructing sightlines. It will be built on the west end of the arena.

The ground level of the grandstand would create a flexible, multi -use space including:

  • A designated beer garden and standing-room viewing area

  • Special guest seating at tables near the arena edge

  • Space suitable for small gatherings, meetings, and food service

The upper level, elevated with 16 feet of headroom below, would provide:

  • A wide, gently sloped access ramp on the right side, allowing wheelchair, walker and mobility challenged access

  • Front-row ADA seating, with clear views of the arena

  • Seating for up to 400 spectators on aluminum bleachers with hand rails

A Facility That Serves the Entire Community

The grandstand would support a wide range of events throughout the year, including:

  • Two Idaho Cowboy Association sanctioned rodeos

  • The Washington County Fair Horse Show

  • High School Rodeos

  • Rodeo Bible Camp

  • 4H and FFA meetings and events

  • Additional equine and community events.

  • Beer Garden and Food Service

  • Dances and small concerts

Community Impact and Economic Benefit

Spectators will be the immediate beneficiaries, enjoying more seating, better sightlines, and improved accessibility. At the same time, the Rodeo Board gains the ability to:

  • Offer premium seating and hospitality options

  • Attract new and expanded sponsorships

  • Improve the overall quality and professionalism of events

Beyond the rodeo grounds, the entire community benefits. Each event brings visitors to Cambridge who shop locally, dine locally, and support local businesses, strengthening the town’s economy and visibility.

A Legacy Opportunity

This project is envisioned as a legacy investment—one that honors Cambridge’s western heritage while ensuring its continuation for future generations.

The campaign will be led jointly the Cambridge Rodeo Association, the beloved steward of the rodeo tradition, and the Cambridge Western Heritage Foundation, a 501c3 non profit organization. The partnership allows donors to support a project they know and love while benefiting from the tax advantages of charitable giving.

For donors seeking to leave a meaningful, lasting mark on their community, this grandstand represents an opportunity to build something that will serve Cambridge for decades to come.
